As I mentioned last week, I’m thinking a lot about Spring trends at the moment. I’m loving the barely there make-up and dew-kissed skin and now, thanks to Marc Jacobs who created the look opposite, I’m wishing I had long locks to twist and turn into soft and fluffy plaits.

Plaits are going to be BIG this season, quite literally, with chunky and wide fish-tail plaits taking centre stage. The key to this look is to keep the hair tousled and a little wispy – harsh, scraped back plaits aren’t flattering for anyone and can cause real tension for the hair root – ouch!

Stray away from high styles too, think gracefully non-chalant style, not Lara Croft adventuress.

Pull hair gently back and plait, securing with a transparent band a couple of inches from the ends. When your done, tease out a few strands from the plait itself as well as around the hairline and around the ears.

Et voila, soft and grown up plaits for Spring.
