Brush Up – Fan Brushes
Yesterday was our first installment of our series on make-up brushes. Today we’re looking at fan brushes.
When I was a teenager my sister bought me a beautifully soft fan brush, but had the time I had no idea what it was used for and it went unused for a long time. Now though, I know better.
Fan brushes are necessary when you want to pick up just the right amount of powder on your skin for dusting and blending purposes. The handle should be firm and sturdy and the bristles should be soft and shed free so that you don’t end up with bristles all over your face.
It’s best to find a fan brush made from natural hair as it offers a superior finish, if you can’t manage that then try your best to find one that is contains a blend of natural and synthetic hair. The goal is to find something luxuriously soft.
Fan brushes are generally used for light touches and subtle amounts of shimmer, highlighter and bronzer.
