A good lip brush is essential if you wear lipstick – particularly dark or bright shades. Using a lip brush keeps the colour in place and makes the formula last much longer.

When buying a lip brush, it’s important to look for a soft, delicate tip that allows for precision but that is also gentle on your lips as they are fragile and easily irritated. As with most make-up tools, natural bristles are the best choice.

To apply your lipstick, wipe the front and back of your brush over your lipstick until it’s saturated with formula. Start in the middle of the lip and blend outwards. Make sure you work only inside of your lip line when applying red or deep lips as the colour will bleed.

Blend your lip line as the very last step. If you are applying gloss over the top, make sure you start off with a light hand so it doesn’t smudge the colour of the lipstick.
