Eat This…
…Avocado!
It is drummed in to us that fat is bad and that we shouldn’t eat it if we want to be healthy. This however, is just not the case. There are good fats which are hugely important to body health.
Considered to be an almost complete food, to the extent that in certain parts of the world babies are weaned using mashed avocado. Native to Central America it has been cultivated for thousands of years.
The pale green flesh of the avocado is rich in potassium (60 percent more than a banana!) and vitamin A, making it a great antioxidant and wonderful for overall skin health.
Avocado is also used topically to heal skin problems as the pulp is believed to be both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Eating avocado regularly lowers the bodies serum cholesterol and phospholipid and keeps them at healthy levels – promoting and maintaining a healthy hear and circulatory system. This is due to the healthy fats contained within them.
