It’s Good to Be Bad
In stark contrast to the clean and perfectly groomed ‘nude face’ makeup of this season, another trend is emerging from the streets. Like an act of rebellion, the eighties over the top style of cosmetics is easing its way in to our lives once again.
Think unkempt eyebrows, thick and slightly smudged lipstick, five shades of bright eyeshadow worn at once and spider-leg eyelashes.
It is thought that it started with Dior, where designer John Galliano went against the majority of catwalk shows and instead opted for garish gold and purple eyeshadows with thick and grungey layers of mascara.
If you want to give this trend a go then try not to go too overboard and choose one feature to play up, be it a thick and unruly brow or multi-coloured eyeshadow.
After all, no one really wants to look like Cindy Lauper – do they?
