Not So Pretty in Pink
Every town has them – groups of surly teenagers standing around looking intimidating in bulky jackets pulled over their heads. They may well just be convening for a chat, but they’re scary to walk past and you can’t help thinking they are up to no good.
Nottinghamshire council has had an ingenious idea, which could have fallen flat on its face but instead has proved a roaring success.
They’ve introduced a special pink light to trouble spots in their area. The pink light is the same as used in beauty salons during facials in order to highlight skin blemishes and flaws. The light has worked wonders at preventing spotty teens from hanging around the streets, though it is also thought to be partly down to the feminine colour scheme.
