Every season there is a trend for metallics, though they differ in appearance. Sometimes it is a subtle metallic infused with a smokey eye – gun metals and burnt copper, last summer we had bright flashes of fiery gold and bronze, this season the beauty world has shunned the dark and bold metallic in favour of a softer approach.

As carefree romance appeared on the catwalks hair was made windswept and flyaway, lids were lightly smudged and skin was shimmering, all thanks to the colour silver.

Work it like the models at Vera Wang who sported sparkling half moons of iridescent silver powder, or take note from Armani (pictured) and blur it over lids for some subtle and sparkly rock’n'roll chic.
