Gently Does It
The skin around your eyes is extremely thin and fragile. Stretching, rubbing and pulling at eye skin can cause it to stretch and subsequently develop lines and crow’s feet. It can also lead to breaking delicate blood vessels resulting in dark eye circles and dulling and thickening of the surrounding skin.
You need to be careful not to pull your skin when applying makeup or removing makeup; after a long day staring at the computer screen and during allergy seasons. If you get dry, tired or itchy eyes then don’t rub them, invest in some good quality eye drops instead.
If you thought morning eye puffiness was nothing to worry about, think again. The skin around the eyes is very fine and vulnerable to stretching. Damage can happen quickly and be irreparable, regular stretching through puffy eyes will eventually damage the skin around your eyes, causing it to sag and age ahead of time. Take measures to avoid puffy eyes; make sure you totally remove your eye makeup before bed, stay hydrated and, as soon as you get swollen eyes, apply a cooling eye mask or slices of cucumber.
