Plastered
Many women, myself included, are prone to blemishes around one certain time of the month. These hormonal spots are a nuisance and near impossible to prevent. There is some help though, courtesy of Bellasugar, who spoke to Dr. Adrienne Denese in order to get some tops skincare tips.
Here’s her advice regarding those irritating pimples.
“The best way to treat hormonal acne is: put some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream on the spot. (If you have access to prescription strength, it works much better). Cover it with a circular Band-Aid overnight. The Band-Aid coverage is the most critical part, so do not skip it. By the morning, the redness will be significantly better due to the anti-inflammatory effect of the hydrocortisone. Do not repeat it for more that two to three nights at the most because it can thin the skin in the long run.”
I often use spot creams at night but find that it wears off as soon as I hit the pillow so I personally will definitely be buying some plasters to bandage myself up with!
