Beauty Icon – Farrah Fawcett

The world is buzzing with the news of Michael Jackson’s death today, but there has also been more sad news from Los Angeles: Farrah Fawcett died yesterday after her battle with cancer. She was 62. A beauty icon since she shot to stardom in Charlie’s Angels, she made a lasting impression on pop culture.

Her gorgeous looks and figure meant that her famous swimsuit poster sold reportedly 12 million copies.

And there’s no forgetting her signature feathered flip, a hairstyle that seemed everywhere in the ’70s and has made a huge come-back over the last few years.

Farrah also turned her fame into a money-making endeavor, launching Farrah-branded shampoo, wigs, and — no joke — a plumbing gadget called Farrah’s Faucet. She was one of the first celebrities to really turn her name in to a brand.

She is survived by her longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal, and their son, Redmond O’Neal.
