Definition – Mica
When it comes to make up which shimmers, reflects, has luster or pearlessence, glitters or shines — however you want to describe it, mica is probably behind it. Mined from the earth in thin sheets, this mineral is extremely finely ground for use in cosmetics such as eyeshadow, mineral makeup, powder, lipstick, and sometimes nail polish.
The word mica comes from the Latin word “micare,” meaning to shine or glitter. Used as an alternative to talc, mica gives a buildable, yet translucent glow to skin, giving it a perfect quality for use in makeup. This multi-tasking mineral can help hide imperfections and fine lines, provide natural UV protection, and adhere to the skin providing a smooth base? Being a mineral, it’s also very safe as it is neither toxic nor reactive.

I didn’t really know that. Thanks for sharing and I would like to try cosmetics made of mica.
