…Nettle Tea!
The common Stinging Nettle, Latin name Urtica Dioica, may be most widely known for causing painful and itchy rashes on country walks, but it has a much better use. It has traditional medicinal properties which have been valued for centuries and it also has a pleasant taste.
Nettles contain a number of important antihistamines, so Nettle Tea can be taken to ease the symptoms of hayfever, rashes and other allergic reactions, including the effects of insect bites.
The tea is also recommended for sufferers of gout and arthiritis, because it helps to reduce the levels of uric acid in the body. It is excellent for detoxifying the body and as a general tonic. Nettle is supposed to be very useful if you are suffering a hangover after over-indulging the night before, or if you have recently stopped smoking and want to cleanse your body of the poisons contained in cigarettes.
Nettle Tea contains large quantities of iron and vitamins and is often recommended in cases of anaemia (iron deficiency) and as a natural, safe dietary supplement.
