I can’t say I’m a fan of body modification – the ‘art’ of cutting and re sticking parts of the body to make different shapes or patterns. There are some very extreme cases out there, but this story in particular caught my eye.

The young girl pictured wanted elf-like ears, apparently in an homage to Lord of the Rings. She went under surgery which cut her ear and sewed in into the new elfin shape.

A few weeks later, the stitches were removed and her new ears revealed.
