Here’s another crazy story from across the pond.

A Detroit city employee hired a lawyer to file a lawsuit claiming she couldn’t work because of her colleagues strong perfume. Susan McBride said she’s severely sensitive to perfumes and cosmetics and the perfume worn by a co-worker in the Planning Department made it difficult to breathe.

Attorney Ann Curry Thompson reached a settlement between the city and her client. The settlement includes money but also sets forth procedures that provides relief for affected workers.

Susan McBride remains an employee in the Detroit city planning department.
