Have you been watching Baby Beauty Queens, the new programme on BBC3? It follows young girls and their families as they enter the UK’s first American style beauty pageant for small girls – Mini Miss UK.

The programme is fairly shocking, showing 9 year old girls getting fake tans, wearing lipstick and even getting plastic surgery… all in the name of beauty.
