The blogosphere is alive right now with gossip.  News that Estee Lauder have taken the decision to close down the Prescriptives brand has come as a shock to many bloggers and readers alike.

Prescriptives will be available online until January when it will disappear for good. The mega brand is 30 years old and well loved, but clearly couldn’t take the heat from the recession. This will be a big alarm call for smaller brands.

Further to the sadness that many people won’t be able to buy their custom made foundations anymore, the job losses will be huge and have a terrible effect on the beauty industry.
