Hairy Situation

A lock of Elvis Presley’s  hair has been sold for $15,000 (£9,200) at an auction of the rock and roll star’s items and memorabilia.

The clump of hair, thought to have been cut when the singer entered the US army in 1958, went under the hammer in Chicago, America.

As well as the hair, a set of handkerchiefs and a shirt worn by Presley were sold for staggering amounts. The collection of items were originally collected by late super fan Gary Pepper and included wedding photos sold for £3,700 – less than the hair tuft!
