Officials from this month’s Crufts Dog Show warned entrants that they’d be keeping an eye out for any dogs who had been given cosmetic help to look better or different. The show rules don’t specifically forbid using makeup on the dogs, but they do “forbid anything that alters an animal’s appearance during dog shows,” reports The Telegraph.
You may think it’s ridiculous, but there are options out there should one want to give their pup a little enhancement. One company creates dog nose paint and even a special hair spray for fur and Dog World Magazine recommends using Clearasil to treat acne in animals. It has been reported that some owners of hairless dogs are even smearing them with hair removal cream to make them extra smooth and hair-free.
