Cosmetic Surgey on the Rise in Iraq
The elections in Iraq are world news at the moment, but a new trend has emerged which showcases the changing culture. Cosmetic surgery is on the rise in Baghdad. Cosmetic surgeons in Iraq have already been helping patients who were disfigured by the war but now there are more and more patients opting for rhinoplasty, Botox, and many other cosmetic procedures.
A great deal of the doctors who left the country years ago for fear that they might be kidnapped, killed or harmed are returning, increasing the availability of cosmetic procedures. The industry is still in its early stages however. The Washington Post reported that less than six cosmetic surgeons operate in Iraq and patients often must provide their own materials, so if you want Botox, you’ll need to buy it yourself at a pharmacy.
