Quick Definition – Surfactant
Surfactants are the things which make your bath foam bubble and your shampoo lather. They’re create this action to help clean skin and hair by drawing in and carrying away dirt and oil. The most common surfactants are sodium laureth sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate.
However, over the last few years surfactants have come into doubt e regarding potential safety issues, as it is believed they may cause skin irritation. To tackle this, some companies have started using natural surfactants rather than chemically produced varieties. You can also tackle it yourself – if you want more foam, add more water to the lather rather than product which can cause dryness or other irritation.
