Tanning Addiction?

A recent study suggests that young people who tan on a regular basis, in the sun or on sun beds, can show patterns of behavior similar to those displayed by substance abusers. The survey looked at students who tan and found that those who tanned the most also tended to display addictive behaviors in other areas of life and feel more anxiety.

It’s not clear from the study whether there are people who simply get easily addicted to anything despite a lack of chemicals to trigger an addiction, or whether tanning itself is addictive because it makes people feel better about themselves. Do you think tanning is addictive?
