The Great Jewel Robbery

There have been further raids on jewellery stores in London. Last weekend De Beers and Omega became the latest victims to suffer the string of jewellery robberies in the Capital. The branches of the stores were located within London’s financial district and the thieves reportedly stole items worth around £380,000.

It has been reported that four men in balaclavas arrived in a red BMW before breaking the shop windows with sledgehammers. A police spokesman explained, “We are currently following a number of lines of inquiry, and I can reassure the public that every effort is and will be directed to bringing those responsible to justice.”

There have been some suggestions that the robbers may have had inside help.

Last year, four men were sentenced to a collective 71 years in prison following a raid on Graff Diamonds on Old Bond Street.
