According to the Daily Mail, the enormous false eyelashes seen gracing the eyelids of stars on the X Factor have sparked a micro trend in beauty. It seems that thousands of women and girls are hitting the shops to buy twice as many eyelashes in order to double them up, wearing one on top of the other for outrageously long and thick lashes unlike anything that can be bought in the stores.

The trend for wearing more than one set of eyelashes is nothing new though. In the 1960s supermodel Twiggy was reported to wear six at at time to enhance that doe-eyed look which made her famous.
