Good looking people are commonly thought of us being a little brighter than the rest of us, but recent research is suggesting that attractive people have higher than average IQs. Using data from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the US’s National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, researchers found that attractive people had IQs up to 14 points above average.

“Both in the British and American samples, physical attractiveness is significantly, positively associated with general intelligence, both with and without controls for social class, body size, and health,” explained Dr. Satoshi Kanazawa of the London School of Economics. It is thought that it all part of evolution as smart people are more drawn to attractive partners and vice versa.
