Gisele Bündchen has been the subject of some controversy lately after an anti-sunscreen comment. The Brazilian supermodel said “I cannot put this poison on my skin . . . I do not use anything synthetic.” The medical profession were in a frenzy over her irresponsible statement, saying that she should be more careful about what she says as she is a role model and her words have influence.

Now, Gisele has clarified the controversial statement through her publicist, Amber Clapp who told StyleList, “Gisele would never say not to use sunscreen because she has had family members who have had skin cancer. She simply stated that her all-natural skin-care [Sejaa] line does not have SPF because there is not an all natural SPF available.” Gisele wears sun protection free of PABA, retinyl palmitate, parabens, and oxybenzone and she also tries to stay out of the sun when it is strong.
