Wedding Beauty – First Steps
Do you have a big occasion like a wedding coming up in a few months? No doubt you want to look your best for it. If you start making small changes to your routine and habits now then, even if you change nothing else, you’ll look healthy and glowing when the big day arrives. Here are my top five changes to make right now;
- Stop smoking. Smoking causes premature aging and stops nutrients from getting to the skin, meaning that if you’re taking supplements or have a healthy diet then you’re not reaping the benefits and this will be seen in your complexion.
- Cut back on alcohol. Alright, so there may be a slip on the hen night, but try not to drink too much. Save that glass of wine for a weekend treat and your skin will look clearer and perkier. If you are going to drink, try to counteract the effects by taking evening primrose oil before and after a night out, don’t forget to remove your makeup and apply plenty of moisturiser to prevent dryness.
- Get active. Really, you should be getting 30 minutes of cardio five times per week, but if the thought of going to the gym fills you with dread then don’t fret. Dance around your living room to your favourite music, do some vigorous housework, buy a fun fitness DVD… use your imagination and you’ll hardly even realise you’re exercising.
- Drink water. You’ve heard it all before, but it’s true. Drinking 8 glasses of water per day will plump the skin and minimise wrinkles as well as preventing premature aging and fighting pimples.
- Exfoliate. Once or twice a week make sure you thoroughly exfoliate, and that includes the skin on your body. You’ll prevent clogged and congested pores as well as ensuring your skin glows from head to toe.
