Welcome to our new blog series – Beauty Myths Busted. Every week we’ll take a look at one common misconception in beauty, hair and makeup and blow it wide open so you don’t need to worry about it anymore.

This week, we’re taking a look at the pores. If a product claims that it can shrink pores then take it with a pinch of salt. You can never shrink or get rid of pores. However, you can make them look smaller by keeping them clean and free of oil and debris which highlights and draws attention to the pores. There’s no changing the size though. In addition, astringents make the skin contract which can make the pores look temporarily smaller, but they won’t stay that way for long.
