The 38th International Home Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition in Tokyo recently took place and one of the stars of the exhibit was a robot which can wash people’s hair. It has 24 “fingers” and it gently massages the scalp while shampooing, conditioning, and drying hair. It is even possible to specify areas you want washed and how much pressure the robot should apply.

The robot is intended for use in nursing homes in Japan where it is difficult to find staff, but it is expected to end up in salons eventually.
