Quick Tip – Acne

If you suffer from acne then chances are you are using a treatment such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or even a retinoid. These products can work wonders for spot prone skin, but the down side is they can leave the skin dry and flaky. It can be tempting to use a coarse scrub on the flaky skin to try and smooth it but stay away away from scrubs! It can make dryness worse on the long time by disrupting the skin’s barrier and also make acne flare up. Instead, make sure you use a good moisturiser which has at least spf15. Ideally, use it as soon as you start your acne skincare regime, and it should keep those flakes to a minimum until the skin adjusts.
