Botox Alternative
The FDA has recently approved a new injectible used for filling out wrinkles in ageing skill. Called LAVIV, the treatment takes fiberblast cells, which are responsible for building collagen, from behind the patient’s own ear. The cells here are less likely to be affected by sun damage and ageing.
The cells are then sent of to a lab, to test for viability. Then, over three months the cells are multiplied until there are hundreds of millions of them. When there’s a sufficient number, they are injected into the patients skin to fill out wrinkles and the results could last up to three years. Not bad, right?
