Bobbi Brings Back

It can be really frustrating when your favourite makeup shade gets discontinued, but if you ever loved a Bobbi Brown product which got taken off the shelves you could get the chance to see it in stores once more.

Tomorrow, the global makeup brand is launching its Bobbi Brings Back campaign on Facebook. Followers of the fan page are getting the chance to bring back old favourite shades. The first product will be lip colour but blusher, eye shadow, and other products will get their chance too.

“It’s important to me that I’m always listening to my fans,” Brown says. “This is an opportunity for me to show my Facebook followers that I appreciate all of their support over the years and thank them. We’re bringing back classic Bobbi Brown lip colors solely based on what the fans want.”


Beth Ditto’s Makeup Line

Singer Beth Ditto is famous for her confident, out-there sense of style and her colourful appraoch to hair and makeup, so it’s hardly surprising that MAC is giving her the chance to create her own makeup line. WWD has reported that Beth will be collaborating ewith MAC on a limited-edition makeup collection which is expected to hit MAC counters in June.

The first image from the campaign has already been released, and it seems we can expect bright, bold matte shades. Will you be purchasing?


Cynthia Nixon Goes Bald

Cynthia Nixon, most famous for her role as Miranda on Sex and the City, recently went bald for her new acting role, Cynthia is playing a cancer-stricken professor in a new Broadway play called Wit. The star recently went on American TV show  ‘LIVE! with Kelly’ to showcase her shaven head and talk about the play.

“I thought it was going to be kind of no-muss, no-fuss, but I have to shave it every day,” she stated “It’s got kind of a five o’clock shadow. You don’t want to go out with that.”

“I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like,” she added. However, this sin’t going to be a lasting look for her, as she noted “I don’t think I’m going to keep it forever,”

Quick tip – Morning Cleanse

Did you know that washing your face in the morning isn’t really necessary? Providing that you thoroughly cleansed before going to bed, your skin shouldn’t have become dirty overnight, unless your pillowcase isn’t clean or you didn’t remove your makeup properly.

Over cleansing can lead to dry, uncomfortable, sensitive or irritated skin, so don’t over do it.

If you feel like you need a bit of a freshen up, then simply splash the face with some water int the morning.


Winehouse Lookalikes at Fashion Week

The Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show was a huge homage to the late Amy Winehouse. All the models in the show were decked out in large beehive wigs, given the singer’s signature thick, winged eyeliner and a beauty mark on the lip to represent her piercing there. The music for the show was made up entirely of her songs too. It seems to French designer was very inspired by the iconic songstress.

Katy’s Lashes

The details of Katy Perry’s collaboration with Eyelure have been announced. The popstar is releasing a number of false eyelash designs with the company, which all resemble Katy’s famous long lashed look.

Katy Perry states that she used Eyelure lashes all through her tour, so this seems like a natural collaboration for the brand. The range will include four different lash designs; “Sweetie Pie,” dainty, natural lashes; “Oh, Honey,” a fuller set; “Cool Kitty,” shorter and suitable for daytime; and “Oh, My,” bold, attention-grabbing lashes. “This style is full of texture, but lightweight and very wearable,” Perry says of the latter, based on Eylure’s double lashes. “The perfect accessory for your eyes.”


The Skin Awards

Every year, Dr Vail Reese, an American dermatologist, unveils his awards for the best and worse celebrity skin moments of the previous twelve months. For 2011, Dr Reese announced the beauty mark which Michelle Williams added in her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe as a top moment.

“The beauty mark had an established career before the invention of celluloid,” explains Dr. Reese “[They were] used to heighten the features of the aristocracy. Some have postulated that marks were used to conceal small pox scars.”
